Opportunities and Challenges in Computational Geophysics

— filed under:

The workshop addressed scientific activities involving state-of-the art software such as that being supported by CIG, innovations and opportunities in computational geophysics, and ways to support and grow computational geoscience through community education programs. An important objective was to obtain community input on the future of the CIG initiative. The overall format combined invited talks, discussion sessions and posters. Participants in all areas of our science attended, including experts in computational science and in geophysics. Young investigators were encouraged to participate. Financial support was available for participants.
