The Geodynamics White Paper (GWP) Committee is soliciting feedback on its latest draft of a Geodynamics White Paper (GWP) document they have prepared for NSF.

The CIG Seismology Web Portal, which provides on-demand simulations of seismic wave propagation, has had its processor capability enhanced to 1014 processors, via the TeraGrid Ranger's Hero queue.

CIG's Executive Committee announced Dr. Louise Kellogg of UC Davis as the next director of CIG. Her term will commence when CIG-II is awarded, estimated to be in early 2010.

Presentations and posters given at the Opportunities and Challenges in Computational Geophysics workshop, held March 30-31, 2009, are now available.
At EarthScope on May 12, 2009, in Boise, ID, CIG will conduct two separate training sessions, each lasting from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: one in the use of the Gale and PyLith software packages for Tectonic Models, and the other in Large-Scale Earth Models using SPECFEM3D/CitcomS software. Financial support is available for graduate students and post-docs who wish to attend.
