CIG Workshop on Mathematical and Computational Issues in the Solid Earth Geosciences by Sue Kientz — last modified 2008-06-10 05:03 AM
Planned for Sept. 15-17, 2008, in Santa Fe, NM, this workshop will bring together solid-earth geoscientists, mathematicians, computational and computer scientists to focus on specific issues arising from a range of solid-Earth dynamics problems that have proven both difficult and critical for progress in studying and modeling the dynamics of the planet.
Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) Tutorial Workshop by admin — last modified 2007-10-29 02:48 AM
A tutorial workshop hosted by CIG on Oct 24-27, 2007, in Boulder, CO, which was devoted to the technical aspects of the AMR method.
Scientific Computing & Computational Geodynamics Workshop 2006 by admin — last modified 2006-11-01 02:43 AM
Workshop on Challenges and Opportunities at the Interfaces of Scientific Computing and Computational Geodynamics (Oct. 16-17) and Computational Science Roundtable (Oct. 18), held at the University of Texas at Austin. The two-day workshop brought together computational geodynamicists and scientific computing experts to identify and assess challenges and opportunities at the interfaces of frontier computational geodynamics problems and scalable numerical and geometric algorithms and software. Following the workshop, the CIG Science Steering Committee (SSC) hosted a one-day computational science roundtable to focus the workshop discussions on CIG's software development roadmap.
