From emheien at ucdavis.edu Thu Feb 2 10:58:09 2012 From: emheien at ucdavis.edu (Eric Heien) Date: Thu, 2 Feb 2012 10:58:09 -0800 Subject: [CIG-MC] CitcomS 3.2.0 Released Message-ID: CitcomS 3.2.0 has just been released and is now available on the CIG website at: http://www.geodynamics.org/cig/software/citcoms There are numerous changes since 3.1.1 which was released in 2009. These include improved implementations of internal stress, radial layer dependent viscosity, and velocity boundary conditions. Improvements have also been made in solver convergence controls, VTK output and several bug fixes. Finally, the Pyre configuration option has been turned off by default, though it can be enabled during configuration. For more details please see the NEWS or ChangeLog included with the release. We will update the manual on the website shortly as well. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I am a Post-Doc student in Geophysics in the Universidade de S?o Paulo, Brazil. I am very interested in using the CitcomCU software in my research. I have one question about this software: In the output file *.th_t.* related to the dynamic topography, is the first column the non-dimensional surface traction? Therefore, is it correct to say that to obtain the dynamic topography w, I need to make the following calculation (rho_m - rho_infill) g w = (visc_ref kappa0 S')/h0^2 where visc_ref is the reference viscosity, kappa0 the diffusivity, S' the non-dimensional surface traction and h0 the characteristic length (thickness of the fluid)? Thank you for your attention Victor Sacek -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
