Petascale Computing Report and Computing Needs Survey Results

by Sue Kientz last modified 2007-04-20 07:00 AM

The CIG Science Steering Committee has developed a brief report on its vision of the future of petacale computing which includes results of the recent computing needs survey as an appendix.

See The Path to Petascale Computing in Geodynamics (PDF). In addition to the survey results, some further analysis of some answers and survey participant comments are included. CIG strongly encourages everyone in the community to read this report and discuss its findings with your colleagues. For those of you who are attending AGU, come share your opinion at the December 11th Town Hall Meeting on GEO Petascale Cybercollaboratory, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the San Francisco Marriott in Nob Hill. This Town Hall Meeting will focus discussion on NSF's plans for a petascale facility, and is another opportunity to learn more and have your voice heard.
